Top Instagram Tips to know:

  • Focus on creating inclusive and accessible images and reels. Add Alt-Text to your images and reels
  • Plan your posts
  • Focus on sharing clear images with good lighting
  • Use the Instagram edit sharpness tool to correct photos taken with poor lighting
  • Limit your use of filters. Stick to Black & White or Sepia

Login to Instagram

Go to Settings & Activity

Click reduce the motion for visual effects in your chat.

Select Dark Mode > On To reduce eye strain 

 

 

Instagram post sizes: 

Posts on the feed are in Portrait (vertical) size. The same size for Instagram Reels. 4:5 ration. 1080x 1350 image size.

How to use Repost on Instagram:

  • Open Instagram
  • Go to the post you want to Repost. If the post has a Repost icon it can be Reposted to your Repost page. 
  • Tap/Click the Repost icon > Post saved to Repost Page. 
  • To Repost a Reel
  • Open Instagram
  • Select Reel
  • Tap/Click Repost
  • Add text in bubble> Reel saved to Repost Page

Delete Repost:

  • Go to Profile Picture
  • Menu
  • Your Activity
  • Repost
  • Tap to view Repost
  • Delete

 

How to add Alt-Text to images on Instagram?

Select image on device > Upload image/s 

Use Edit > Sharpen to adjust brightness of image > Next > Accessibility > Type description > Share

 How to edit Alt-Text on images already posted?

Go to image you want to edit Alt-text for.

Scroll down to More Options > Accessibility Write Alt-Text > Save (Make sure you save Alt-Text on all images) > Done
