This week we are discussing research in the library and information profession. Is it easy or difficult for LIS workers or new graduates to work on research projects or get published? How many of us actually get inspired to make the leap to Masters level or even a PHD?

This year marks the 10^th anniversary of LARK (Library Applied Research Kollective) your ALIA group advocating and supporting research across the GLAM sector. In the build up to a very special #LARK2022 symposium in September we welcome you to join and share in this special edition #AusLibChat.

Questions:

1. Do you have any research projects going on in your workplace or any inspiring practice-based research project you have heard or read?

2. Have you ever considered doing a research project? What have been the barriers or what has been helpful to working on a research project?

3. Do you think your library or information degree prepared you for doing research as part of your professional practice? What else would assist this?
