ALIA SNGG Qld recently took an exciting tour of the Queensland Art Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) Library.

The QAGOMA library has an extensive collection of over 50,000 art resources that are accessible to the public.  The library holds a variety of books, exhibition catalogues and journals.  The QAGOMA Library supports art researchers and holds materials from current QAGOMA exhibits.

Tour attendees learned about the library’s collection and some of its more special holdings which included personal correspondences between famous artists, photo collections and artist sketchbooks.

Many librarians from the wider library community also attended the tour, which was a great opportunity for the students and new graduates in attendance to network and meet some of their professional peers.  A lucky door prize of a Gold Class ticket was kindly donated by Marlene Le Roux from Raeco and Rachael from State Library of Queensland was the lucky winner!

A fantastic day was had by all and ALIA SNGG Qld would like to express their gratitude to the QAGOMA Library Librarians who facilitated the tour.
